Eminem's Top 15 songs

Having sold over 170 millions of album copies worldwide and won one Academy, 15 Grammy and hundreds of other major awards there is hardly a person who haven't heard of Marshall Mathers a.k.a Eminem.
Except for his main stage name (Eminem) which was firstly M&M he is also known by his evil alter ego - Slim Shady, character that was created in his second studio album "The Slim Shady LP"

Since 1996 till now he has published 8 studio albums from which "Infinite" was his first and "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" being his latest album from 2013. Through the years he has released many singles, has done many collaborations with other famous musicians and has been part of over 300 songs.
Here are mine Top15 Eminem's songs:

15. Space Bound

Album: Recovery

You can't see this side of Em everyday. Softer lyrics and calmer voice to describe a loving relationship that turns out to be abusive. Many people consider this song as sequel to "Kim" where he is rewinding the time when he and his now ex-wife were still in a relationship.

14. Deja vu

Album: Relapse

A song from the album that came after 5 years of hiatus because of Em's private problems. Frightening lyrics that describe his overdose and the life of a life addict. Very powerfull and personal song about Shady's life.

13. Headlights

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP 2

After years of hate and intolerance between him and his Mom, Marshal realises that after all she is still his Ma and she is still beautiful to him. He feels remorse and is sorry for the things he done in the past that hurt his Mom, especially with his songs "Cleaning Out my Closet" and "My Mom". Very emotional song where you can see his maturity and desire for a new start in their relationship.

12. Mosh

Album: Encore

Without holding back, Eminem goes all out on US's foreign policy for invading the Middle East and directly opposes the candidate for President of USA, George W. Bush. Combine pissed off Eminem with politics and you get a true masterpiece of a song with marvelous lyrics and powerful message.

11. Mockingbird

Album: Encore

One more song from hist fifth studio album and probably his least offensive. Very emotional song dedicated to his daughters Hailie and Alaina. He acknowledges that growing up with parents like him and Kim can be difficult and he is sorry for all the trauma they caused to them.
Eminem admitted in an interview with the magazine Rolling Stones that he got emotional and actually cried when i finished the song

10. Infinite

Album: Infinite

Without developed persona and voice but with marvelous wordplay, pure lyrics and sick beat Eminem introduces himself to the world. He starts big and he is hungry, there are no boundaries for him.
“There’s never been a greater since the burial of Jesus" - 'nuff said

9. Role Model

Album: The Slim Shady LP

Self-mocking, sarcastic, humorous song that tends to piss off conservative people. Pure classic Slim Shady stuff, an alter ego that made him famous and made people to fall in love with his work.
Kids, remember, don't take it literally he ain't the role model you should follow.

8. Criminal

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP

If you are not familiar with Eminem's music and career even though that is hard to believe, this song would be a good intro for newbies to see what can they expect from his other works.
As always, not political correct, offensive as a person could get and most importantley not givinig a flying fu*k. These are the things that made him famous, the persona he created and all off that included in one song.

7. Beautiful

Album: Relapse

Probably the strongest song on his 7th studio album that came after 5 years of hiatus, an album that marked the new more mature Eminem.
Slow, dark and deep lyrics that describe his battle with depression over the years, it is not easy being Marshall Mathers. Many people who were in similar mental state as Marshall, found this song quite inspiring and gave them hope because its indicating optimism and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

6.The Way I Am

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP

The second single from his third studio album is one of Em's most popular and controversal songs. With an unique beat, creepy piano sounds and funeral bells, it is hard to not have it stuck in your head.
One of the realest songs he has ever written, without hesitation Em takes on everything. The Way I Am was the core, the basis of Eminem's persona in the media and the hip hop game.

5. Rap God

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP 2

The arrogance of Eminem that everyone missed since 2004 was brought back for a moment in his latest album, and what a moment was that. A record braking single that left everyone with their mouths open. To be able to crown yourself as the "Rap God" your name probably has to be Eminem and no one else. Surreal rhymes and lyrics even for him. The thing that makes him one of the greatest hip hop artist is the fact that even when he is comparing himself with God he doesn't forget who inspired him and whose product he is.

4. The Real Slim Shady

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP

The leading single of MMLP, Eminem's best selling album, is there something more to say? Everyone has heard it at least once on the radio. Catchy and goofy song with ill rhymes and a doze of seriousness. Not many people in the game can make such delivery.

3. Stan

Album: The Marshall Mathers LP

Breathtaking, song for history and future schoolbooks. The piece that proved his uniqueness, diversity and legendary status in the game, showing the world that he can write something else than mocking others and himself. Playing both characters in such a marvelous way, with so many emotions, it's something really special and exceptional.
Also, to not forget to credit the truly amazing performance of Dido on the hook which gives the song another dimension. Another thing that makes this song so legendary is Em's performance at the Grammys with Sir Elton John after the media labeled him as homophobic, definitely one of Marshall's best pieces of work.

2. My Name Is

Album: The Slim Shady LP

The song that introduced Shady to the world, a world that wasn't prepared for him. A guy who is hungry for glory, doesn't care about your feelings and you better not stand on his way, except if you don't want your ass to be roasted in his next ill lyrics and rhymes. Song that even made his mom to sue him, he really "just don't give a fuck".
Although he had already released one studio album, many people consider "My Name Is" as the start of his professional career because of the influence it had on his life and the rap game.

1. Lose Yourself

Album: Curtain Call: The Hits

Hands down, not only Eminem's but one of the greatest songs ever in Hip Hop. Song that was written to promote his semi-autobiographical movie "8 Mile", turned out to be one of the greatest songs, winning him an Oscar, Grammy and many, many other major awards. Legendary piece of work that allowed him to enter Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, making him immortal. Also, in all the seriousness how can somebody forget
"Mom's spaghetti"?
